Hua Nan just landed in Australia

Cancel visa if deported

Just this week, a Chinese student just landed in Adelaide. The border officer canceled his visa and deported him directly!

The reason was that some ulterior secrets were found on his mobile phone…

The incident occurred on February 23. The man held a legal student visa and planned to major in early childhood education. He took a flight from China and successfully arrived at the Adelaide International Airport in Australia. He thought he would be able to start a new study abroad path, but he ran into trouble during the immigration inspection.

According to ABF official disclosure, when the staff conducted a routine inspection of the man’s luggage, they focused on his mobile phone and found that there were 21 videos suspected of child abuse in the mobile phone.

After verification, these videos are prohibited content expressly prohibited by Section 4A of the Customs (Prohibition of Import) Regulations 1956.

Australian laws have extremely strict controls on child abuse-related materials, and any form of possession or dissemination will be severely punished.

Ultimately, the man was fined $660 and had his visa cancelled.

He was detained locally and deported on the next flight.

Mark Vaughan, the head of ABF, made a clear statement regarding the outcome of this handling. He bluntly stated that this man planned to study early childhood education and was supposed to be a practitioner who will protect children in the future, but he was found to possess such a horrific video. This situation is extremely worrying.

“This kind of content has no place in Australian society and our staff are always on the lookout for suspicious videos or images coming from airports.”

Vaughan stressed that those who engage in such egregious behavior and may endanger the safety of the community will be prosecuted or deported.

In fact, this is not the first time ABF has intercepted such illegal persons at the port of entry.

Data shows that in just two years from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2025, ABF staff have intercepted more than 435 potential child abuse suspects at major airports in Australia.

In the first two weeks of January 2026 alone, 17 travelers were intercepted due to the presence of relevant content in their electronic devices, resulting in their visas being canceled and facing arrest.

This series of data is enough to show Australia’s efforts to protect children’s safety and its “zero tolerance” attitude towards such illegal activities.

Travelers whose visas have been canceled may be barred from re-entering the country for up to three years, and in some cases may be permanently barred from entering the country.

This is not the first time that similar incidents have occurred.

An Australian man flew from China to Sydney and was arrested as soon as he landed! Customs found this amazing thing and he may be sentenced to 20 years in prison!

Since last year, Australian Customs has strengthened inspections of the contents of mobile phones of immigrants. Many Chinese were deported as soon as they landed…

International students just landed in Australia

The visa was canceled

Previously, a Chinese student who also landed in Adelaide had his visa canceled by border officials because of some content on his mobile phone.

The international student held a 500 student visa and was granted it in 2022. At that time, he was studying for a bachelor’s degree in information technology.

In July of the same year, he chose to take a break from school and obtained a third-level certificate in carpentry from October to September 2024.

During this period he also enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma in Management (Study). According to Australian regulations, international students can only work a maximum of 48 hours every two weeks.

But the international student admitted when facing border officials that he worked 50-60 hours a week during his studies in March and April 2024.

Border officials found photos of Uber drivers and earnings details in the Uber APP on his mobile phone, which was enough evidence to prove his overtime work behavior.

According to the man’s Uber record,Over a two-week period in March last year, he worked a total of 66 hours.

Section 252 of the Immigration Act allows border officers to search a non-citizen’s property, including electronic devices, and cancel the person’s visa if they have reasonable grounds to do so.

Many Chinese students return to Australia

Deported for this

Previously, “China Daily” also reported an incident:

Chinese students entering Australia were subject to unwarranted interrogation and deportation.

The Chinese international student entered Australia through the self-service channel. Everything went smoothly and he got his luggage. However, before leaving the airport, he was stopped by customs and border inspection personnel and asked to check his mobile phone and luggage.

After a series of investigations, customs officers found some photos of “participating in military training” on the Chinese student’s mobile phone.

That is the military training that many people have experienced.

After seeing the military training photo, Australian border officers canceled the international student’s visa on the spot and deported him immediately on the grounds that he concealed his military training experience.

A source said that one month before this incident, another Chinese student studying in Australia was unreasonably interrogated by Australian border law enforcement officers when entering Sydney International Airport. Some photos of his military training during his university studies in China were found on his mobile phone. He was refused entry on the grounds that he concealed his so-called “military training” experience. He was notified on the spot that his visa was canceled and he was sent back the same way.

In response, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in Australia made solemn representations to the Australian side at that time, urging the Australian side to immediately stop unwarranted interrogations and even repatriate Chinese students studying in Australia, and effectively protect the legitimate rights and interests of relevant Chinese personnel.

After the incident, the Chinese government stated that it had made stern representations to the Australian government.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said:

“Australia’s relevant practices run counter to the mutually beneficial and win-win nature of China-Australia cultural exchanges. We urge Australia to stop this practice that harms others but not self-interest, and create a good atmosphere and provide necessary conditions for China-Australia cultural exchanges and educational cooperation.”

The Australian Border Force declined to comment on individual cases but defended the general practice of canceling visas at the border.

Border Force said in a statement:

“The traveling public should be aware that the Australian Border Force has the power to, and does, cancel visas at the border if travelers provide false information. We are committed to facilitating entry into Australia for legitimate visa holders, but where necessary, we will not hesitate to use the powers we have to protect Australia’s national interests.”

Although it is understood that it is for national security reasons, its review standards are indeed in urgent need of reform.

Although the review standards on this issue may be slightly strict, such strict review is indeed necessary for the above two cases.

What can be confirmed is that Australia’s immigration inspections are getting stricter and stricter. Once illegal content on mobile phones is discovered, the consequences will be really disastrous…

at last

Australia has extremely strict inspections of electronic devices for immigrants.

Contents on mobile phones, computers and other devices may become the focus of inspection.

Any illegal content,

All will lead to serious consequences.
