New Zealand Chinese Herald Network Comprehensive BNZ Auckland Lantern Festival opens today! This event will usher in the Year of the Horse with bright lights and diverse cultures, and bring a successful conclusion to the Spring Festival celebrations.

As one of New Zealand’s largest cultural festivals, this lantern festival lasts for four nights, with free admission and suitable for the whole family. Visitors can enjoy exquisite lantern displays, watch live theatrical performances, taste authentic Asian cuisine, and enjoy the gorgeous fireworks show.

✨ Over 500 handmade lanterns

This year, more than 500 handmade lanterns will be on display.

In addition to the new Year of the Horse themed lanterns, a new Kiwiana themed lantern incorporating New Zealand’s iconic elements will also be unveiled for the first time.

🎭 Wonderful performance on the main stage

During the four event nights, the main stage will present diverse performances that combine traditional culture and modern art.

At the same time, the BNZ basketball court also has an interactive experience area, where you can win exquisite gifts by participating in fun activities.

🍜 Food and markets

There are 50 food stalls and 20 retail stalls on site, bringing together Asian delicacies, festival gifts and specialty products.

Free shuttle buses will run frequently between the following locations:

Parking and other options

Manukau Westfield Shopping Center: Free parking is provided during the lantern festival, you can transfer to the shuttle bus or walk there
Kia Aroha College (Othello Drive): Paid parking available
Cycling: There are bicycle racks on site. You can check the Auckland Transport official website for walking and cycling routes.

• No pets allowed (except service dogs)
