global times According to a report by the British “Guardian” on February 19, Bill Gates, the former richest man in the United States and co-founder of Microsoft, suddenly announced the cancellation of the keynote speech of the “Artificial Intelligence Impact Summit” to be held in India due to continued doubts about his relationship with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
According to reports, Bill Gates arrived in India earlier this week, and his foundation is working with the local government to promote the “Artificial Intelligence for Good” project. He was originally scheduled to deliver a speech at the international summit immediately after Indian Prime Minister Modi, but on the morning of the 19th – a few hours before the speech began – he suddenly announced his cancellation. The meeting also included heavyweight guests such as French President Macron and India’s richest man Mukesh Ambani.
The Gates Foundation issued a statement saying: “After careful consideration, in order to ensure that the summit focuses on core issues, Mr. Gates will no longer deliver a keynote speech.” This move comes less than 48 hours after the foundation previously insisted that “Gates will attend and speak as planned.”
Although the statement did not specify the reason, the latest release of Epstein case documents at the end of January this year has intensified the controversy over Gates’ relationship with him. Gates once said he “regrets knowing Epstein.” The newly disclosed documents include an email drafted by Epstein accusing Gates of hiding an STD from his then-wife after he came into contact with a “Russian girl.” Gates denied the accusation, calling it “false,” and apologized for his association with Epstein: “I regret every minute I spent with him.”
The Gates Foundation stressed that it remains committed to advancing health and development goals in India and will be represented at the summit by Ankur Vora, President of the Africa and India Operations Office.
