After China has exempted visas to Australia, more and more Australian tourists come to China to travel.

For them, everything in China is very novel and I want to experience it.

Recently, an Australian couple traveled to the southwest of China. In this famous mountain city of Chongqing, they saw such a five-star hotel room-

A 50-storey building with a large swimming pool by the window overlooking the entire mountain city.

This sounds attractive, so they happily booked on a budget.

As a result, they did not expect that the swimming pool would become a source of trouble and flooded the hotel…

In fact, it was “flooded hotel”?

In July this year, Australian coupleGraham Bernard andIodineie Bernard came to China for travel.

In Chongqing, they booked a room in a five-star hotel with a luxurious pool bathtub and a beautiful big bed.

Since they still had to visit the city, they asked the hotel staff to help them put the swimming pool in water first.

After returning to the hotel, they changed into their swimsuits, opened a bottle of champagne, and prepared to enjoy it in the pool.

After a while, they suddenly received a WeChat message from the hotel staff telling them to turn off the water flow in the bathtub.

They also released chat history with hotel staff.

“Hello, is the bathtub in your room still watering?”

“When the bathtub is full of water, it will cause water seepage downstairs. Please turn off the water first?”

Staff also said there was a sign next to the bathtub with “Shut off the water after full water”.

Staff said that the water had leaked downstairs and flooded the hotel…

Graham looked confused: “We thought that the infinity pool did not need to be turned off manually – we neither dived inside nor did we deliberately toss it.”

The design of the bathtub is indeed the case – on the side close to the window, the wall of the cylinder is slightly shorter and there is a drain on the outside, which conforms to the design of the infinity swimming pool, that is, there is a side that flows downward to create an infinite visual effect, similar to the picture below (located in Kuala Lumpur):

The sign “Switch off the water after full water” only has Chinese, unlike other items in the room, which are all in English, so they can’t understand it and do not know that the bathtub needs to turn off the water flow.

The hotel staff then said that three cleaners were about to arrive at the guest rooms to assist in the cleaning work.

He described: “The dramatic thing is that the doorbell suddenly rang, and it felt like he was on the set of a crime scene investigation drama.”

“Our large pool has too much water and may flood the downstairs room.”

Hotel staff said that if the water is too full, the water will flow downstairs.

Videos are popular across the Internet

Netizens have different opinions

After the incident, the couple posted their experience on social media, and it turned out to be a surprise.This video has been played nearly 20 million times on INS, and countless netizens commented below.

The video shows that the two men in swimsuits are busy assisting hotel staff to scoop water, and the scene is very funny.

Some netizens criticized: “What’s so funny about this? I hope the hotel will claim compensation from you”;

Someone said: “It’s not ridiculous at all. Usually I like playing scenes, but this incident caused inconvenience to too many people”;

The third netizen accused: “You play in the water and have caused others to suffer.”

However, some netizens also saw the funny side.

One viewer joked: “This hotel room is simply amazing! (Of course, it would be better if the drainage system is not defective)”.

Another said: “This is obviously a design flaw and it is impossible for the guests to foresee this situation.”

Graham said the hotel staff later found out that it was the problem caused by the blockage of the drain pipe and apologized for it. “The staff are very good and apologize every time they meet.

They were not held accountable for this accident.

He also said that they later used that bathtub, of course, with the water flow turned off.

Judging from the videos they posted on social media, the couple later had a happy holiday, and they also went to Chengdu to see the giant panda:

It seems that every Australian cannot reject the charm of pandas…
