“We were told that the cabin was out of pressure after we landed, but there was no communication in the air.”

“We didn’t know the plane was intact until we landed safely at 10 pm. It would have been great if we could have known this earlier!”

Fortunately, the plane eventually landed safely in Brisbane and there are currently no reports of passengers or crew injuries.

Virgin Australia later confirmed that there was indeed a cabin outage on the flight.

“We can confirm that the Sydney-Brisbane flight number VA933 experienced a cabin outage incident on Wednesday, August 13 but has arrived safely at Brisbane Airport,” a spokesperson for the airline said in a statement.

“The crew took corresponding measures in accordance with standard operating procedures to quickly lower the aircraft to a lower altitude. During this process, PAN calls were also issued to Air Traffic Control.”

The so-called PAN call is an internationally common emergency signal in aviation communications, which is used to indicate that an emergency but not fatal situation has occurred. Unlike the “Mayday” distress signal, it does not mean that the aircraft or personnel are facing direct threats.

Although Virgin did not respond to questions about whether passengers received relevant information during the flight,

But the airline stressed that they always put the well-being of passengers and crew first and acknowledged that the incident could be unsettling.

“Security is always a priority for Virgin Australia and we are conducting a comprehensive review of the incidents based on the company’s safety standards.”

At present, the aircraft involved is undergoing inspection and evaluation by engineers.
