The agency of the home are Jacqui Vaughan-Kells and Kath Barnes, real estate agents at Barfoot & Thompson Grey Lynn branch, who said the home was sold at “current land value” last week.

“We received a lot of consultations. ConsideringhistoryRelic protection clauses and commercial land naturemany buyers spend time researching the potential use of the plot,” Vaughan-Kells said. She confirmed she received multiple offers.

She said buyers can get creative and “seize this rare opportunity to imagine, design and build.”

OneRoof interviewed a buyer who bought the land for $280,000 in 2022, and he said at the time that he wanted to build a family home here.

“I hope to be connected to the historical sites of (Auckland) and I love Grey Lynn, Ponsonby or Parnell,” he admitted that he was also attracted by the docks of Orakei Basin, but felt deeply regretful after finding that it could not be converted into a residence.

He appreciates the design scheme of the former owner in partnership with Fabricate Architecture firm Hamish Stirrat, which plans to extend resource licensing to ensure project funds are in place. However, the plan changed and he decided to change his hands.

Former owner retailer Cameron Woodcock and artist Gavin Hurley purchased the site for $268,900 in 2017, with some of the space originally planned to transform it into a showroom for Hurley’s works.

Vaughan-Kells saidThe transaction does not include old building plans. “Buyers can refer to the old plan for inspiration, but they need to design it themselves. It is very suitable to transform it into an office or a dining car, and some artists also consider plans to set up exhibition halls downstairs and living upstairs.”
